The Patriots have held an opponent scoreless for a full quarter in each of their first three games.
Saturday night against Winchester, the Jay County High School girls basketball team blanked the Golden Falcons in the first period.
The defensive effort in the opening quarter helped the Patriots to a 54-22 victory, pushing their record to 3-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
JCHS junior Abby Wendel led all scorers with 15 points, including a 3-for-5 effort from beyond the arc, as three Patriots reached double-digit point totals.
