East Jay spikers top Heritage

East Jay Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams picked up Allen County Athletic Conference victories Thursday over the visiting Heritage Patriots.
The eighth grade Chiefs won 25-5, 25-12, and the seventh graders were victorious, 25-11, 25-11.
Kailee Denney served the eighth graders to 13 points and seven aces, while also adding three kills. Hanna Dillon notched 10 points, three aces and three kills, and Maggie Pryor tallied six points and four aces.
For the EJMS seventh graders, Logan Poor recorded 10 aces on her way to 16 service points, and Macey Weitzel had 10 points.
Elyse Bost totaled four kills and Hanna James had three kills.

Indians down Chiefs
GAS CITY — The RJ Baskett sixth grade A and B volleyball teams beat the visiting East Jay Chiefs.
Baskett’s A team won 25-23, 25-21, and the B team defeated the Chiefs 25-9. 25-19.

Ashlyn Dow totaled eight points and five aces to lead the EJMS A team. Lexie Ferguson had five points and two kills, and Natalie Miles notched three points, two aces and three kills.
Olivia Rowles led the B team with six points and three aces, and Mariah Gross had two points.
Yarexi Ortiz and Rowles notched the only kills for the Chiefs.

Eagles 8th win
WINCHESTER — Rhegan Shimp and Randi Ferguson both tallied double-digit point totals in the West Jay eighth grade volleyball team’s win over Driver.
The Eagles won 25-24, 25-19. West Jay’s seventh graders fell 25-21, 25-19.
Ferguson tallied 15 service points and one ace while Shimp had nine aces on her way to 13 points. Molly Ault had recorded three points, while Kendal Garringer and Gracie Miller both contributed two points.
Allison Jobe led the seventh graders with a dozen points, including five aces. Calli Stigleman had four points and two aces, with Hallie Fields and Kymia Hankins both adding three points apiece.
