FORT WAYNE — An epic comeback came up just a few points short Thursday as the Jay County High School volleyball team fell 25-20, 25-18, 14-25, 22-25, 15-11 to the Homestead Spartans in the opening round of the Class 4A Sectional 6 tournament at Fort Wayne South Side.
The Patriots rallied from a two-games-to-none deficit, dominating the third game and holding off a Homestead comeback in the fourth. They took a 12-10 lead in the deciding game, but a disputed call led to the previous point being replayed and JCHS never scored again.
