Fort Recovery places sixth

STOW, Ohio — Fort Recovery High School’s girls golf team finished sixth Tuesday in the Division II girls golf sectional at Fox Den Golf Course.
Playing in its third 18-hole tournament of the season, the Indians had a team score of 428, four strokes off its season-low 424 they set Aug. 13 at the Mercer County Invitational.
Trisha Thien led the Tribe with a 99 as the only golfer to reach double-digits.
Tori Vaughn had a 106 as Fort Recovery’s No. 2 golfer. Emily Bruns and Elli Keller followed with a 111 and 112 respectively. Cori Stone had a 125.

Stars blank Blackford
BERNE — The South Adams boys golf team improved to 11-6 on the season with a 5-0 sweep of the visiting Blackford Bruins on Tuesday.
After dropping the first set to Blackford’s Kabe Peden, Brett Litwiller rallied to win at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. It was the only match that lasted three sets.
South Adams’ David Muselman took care of Jordan Elliot at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Dexter Miller beat Scott Thompson 6-0, 6-1.
The Starfire No. 1 doubles team of Jared Grabau and Cole Myers beat Stephen McGahey and Blake Thiery 6-4, 7-5, and at No. 2 doubles Kam DeLong teamed up with Marcus Teeter to beat Zach Tarr and Kerigan Reynard, 6-1, 6-2.
In junior varsity action, the Starfires beat the Bruins 3-1.
