DECATUR — Jay County High School’s girls track team moved to 4-0 on the season with a pair of victories Thursday at Bellmont.
The Patriots won seven events, scoring 72 points to edge the host Squaws by nine. The Adams Central Jets were third with 26 points.
Jay County’s boys placed third with 23 points. Bellmont won with 71, and Adams Central was runner-up with 67 points. The boys fell to 1-3.
Emma Laux won both the 100- and 200-meter sprints, finishing with times of 11.34 and 28.4 seconds respectively. She also anchored the winning 4x100 relay team, joining her younger sister Lucy, Taylor Homan and Lexi Myers to finish in 54.4 seconds.
Erika Kunkler was first in the 400 run with a time of 1 minute, five seconds, and Kellie Fortkamp picked up a victory in the 3,200 run in 13:36. Then they teamed with Megan Wellman and Ava Kunkler to win the 4x800 relay in 10:43.

Lucy Laux won the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 11 inches.
Earning runner-up honors were Britlyn Dues (300 hurdles), McKensie Muhlenkamp (discus), Gabby Kunkler (3,200), Ava Kunkler (800 and high jump), Homan (100) and Wellman (1,600).
For the JCHS boys, Nathan Heitkamp was second in both the 100 dash and long jump, and added a third-place finish in the 200.
Aaron Neal finished third in both the 110 and 300 hurdles races, and also the high jump. Kyle Blankenship trailed Heitkamp to place third in the 100.
