VAN WERT, Ohio — Cassidy Martin and Cori Stone won both of their individual events.
They helped on a pair of winning relay teams, too.
The pair led Fort Recovery High School’s girls swim team to a second-place finish Tuesday in a four-team meet at Van Wert.
Minster totaled 78 points to finish first, 27 points ahead of the Indians. New Bremen was third with 38 points, and Botkins was a distant fourth with two points.
Martin won both the 200-meter individual medley and 100 freestyle. Stone was first in the 100 butterfly and 400 freestyle events.
Sophie Timmerman also picked up an individual victory in the 100 breaststroke.
Stone and Martin teamed with Timmerman and Payton Thobe for a victory in the 200 free relay. Fort Recovery also won the 200 medley relay behind the efforts of Stone, Timmerman, Faith Hull and Trisha Thien.
Sydney Alig, Hull, Thobe and Martin teamed to win the 400 freestyle relay.
FR 7th wins
FORT RECOVERY — Clay Schmitz poured in 18 points Tuesday as the Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team beat the St. Marys Roughriders 41-23.
The FRMS eighth graders lost 40-36.
Logan Hartnagel and Brian Bihn both tallied six points in support of Schmitz. Gavin Thobe and Regan Martin added four points apiece, and Derek Jutte chipped in with three points.
Grant Knapke paced the eighth graders with 14 points. Ian Homan was second on the team with eight points, and Jared Timmerman totaled seven. Owen Schoen scored five points, and Riley Dilworth added two.
