FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s Chase Bruns hit a 3-pointer with 1:10 remaining to tie the game at 54 against the Redskins on Saturday.
Tanner Rosengarten of Fort Loramie one-upped him, hitting a game-winning triple as time expired to give the host Redskins a 57-54 victory.
Fort Recovery (4-12) had a 49-45 lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Fort Loramie scored four straight points to tie the game for the sixth time.
Micaiah Cox hit a pair of free throws to put the visitors up 51-49. Fort Loramie scored five straight points to take a 54-51 advantage until the trey by Bruns.
Kyle Schroer of Fort Recovery led all players with 13 points. Bruns tallied 12 points, and Cox tallied 10 to go with his 12 rebounds.
The Indians’ junior varsity squad also lost, 49-36.
Fort Recovery’s Ryan Braun had a game-high 12 points, and Jason Roessner added 11.

Tribe girls rout Jets
ARCANUM, Ohio — Fort Recovery High School’s girls basketball team scored the first 36 points on Saturday.
It turned into a 70-16 rout of the Franklin Monroe Jets.
Franklin Monroe missed its first 16 field goals of the game and didn’t break the shutout until the final minute of the first half. It finally made a bucket from the field 1:54 into the second half, but by then the score was already 44-2 in favor of Fort Recovery.
Three players scored 12 or more points for Fort Recovery (12-4), which has won three straight games for the third time this season. Grace Thien and Jocelyn Kaiser led the Indians with 13 points apiece, and Tori Lennartz chipped in with a dozen. Kendra Siefring added seven points, and Whitney Will tallied six.


Star boys win big
BERNE — A hot start in the first quarter carried over into a 40-point victory for South Adams on Saturday.
Derek Wanner poured in a season-high 33 points as the Starfire boys basketball team defeated the Daleville Broncos, 78-38.
South Adams (6-8) raced out to a 27-11 lead after eight minutes and pushed its lead to 41-21 at half.
Wanner, a senior, was on fire from the field, as he was 14-of-17 including sinking all three of his shots from long distance. He added 10 rebounds and four assists.
Jared Grabau followed with 16 points and Marco Vasquez chipped in with 10, as the Starfires shot 61 percent for the game. Conner Sealscott tallied nine points, and Cole Myers had six.

Stars top Jets
MONROE — The Starfire girls finished above .500 in the Allen County Athletic Conference with a 47-23 victory against cross-county rival Adams Central on Saturday.
South Adams (12-8, 4-3 ACAC) held the Jets (3-17, 1-6 ACAC) to just five points in the opening half, as it had a 30-5 lead heading into intermission.
Adams Central was able to put some offense together late, scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Cindy In’t Groen scored a game-high 20 points for South Adams, and Sydney Willis added 11. Mackenzie Jennings talled six points, and Sharon Balsiger had four.
