Jay Co. to meet Vikings
Girls basketball sectional
INDIANAPOLIS — The Allen County Athletic Conference champion Patriots will begin sectional play against the Vikings.
In the IHSAA girls basketball tournament held Sunday, the Jay County girls basketball team came away with a matchup against Huntington North in the Class 4A Sectional 6 tournament, which will be played at Homestead.
South Adams will meet the host Woodlan Warriors in the Class 2A Sectional 36 tournament.
The Patriots (16-5) and Vikings (8-11) will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 10, with the winner advancing to the second semifinal on Feb. 13 against the Fort Wayne South Side Archers. The other semifinal game pits the Wayne Generals against the fourth-ranked Homestead Spartans at 6 p.m. Feb. 13.
The sectional championship game is slated for 7 p.m. Feb. 14.
South Adams (12-8) and Woodlan will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in the opening round of the Class 2A Sectional 36.
The winner will advance to play Churubusco in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. Feb. 13.
In the other opening-round games, the Bluffton Tigers will square off against the Adams Central Jets, and the Eastside Blazers will meet 2014 state runner-up, the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers.
The championship game is slated for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14.
