Jay Co. to meet Wayne

INDIANAPOLIS — The Patriots will begin sectional play against the Generals.
In the IHSAA tournament draw held Sunday, the Jay County High School boys basketball team came away with a match-up against the host Wayne Generals in the Class 4A Sectional 6 tournament.
The South Adams Starfires will meet the Eastside Blazers in the Class 2A Sectional 36 tournament, which will be played at Woodlan.
Jay County (16-6) plays Wayne (3-16) at 6 p.m. March 6 in the first game of a doubleheader. Jay County defeated Wayne 35-17 Feb. 14 in Portland.
The second game March 6 will feature Fort Wayne South Side against the winner of the opening round match-up between the second-ranked Homestead Spartans (20-2) and the Huntington North Vikings (9-12). The Spartans and Vikings play at 6 p.m. March 3.
The sectional championship game is slated for 7 p.m. March 7.
South Adams (11-9) and Eastside (12-8) play at 6 p.m. March 4 in the first game of a doubleheader, with Fort Wayne Canterbury (10-10) and Bluffton (13-7) meeting in the nightcap.
The winners advance to the second semifinal game, which will be at 7:30 p.m. March 6.
The other semifinal game will pit No. 7 Churubusco (20-3) against the winner of the March 3 opening round match-up between Adams Central (5-13) and host Woodlan (3-17).
The Class 2A Sectional championship game will be at 7 p.m. March 7.
