Hunt sets career high
Collegiate Check-up
During her junior season, Erin Hunt saw her scoring take a dramatic leap. This year, she’s improved her abilities as a distributor.
Those skills were on display Saturday when the 2011 Jay County High School graduate racked up a career high in assists to help the Bethel College women’s basketball team halt a four-game skid with an 88-80 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Hunt assisted on each of her team’s first two baskets — consecutive 3-pointers by Madison Schrock — and then scored on a lay-up for her only field goal try of the game. She added four more first-half assists on the way to a career high of nine.
She made six free throws as she added eight points, three rebounds, two steals and a block.
The senior had two points, three assists, one rebound and one steal for the Pilots (8-13) on Wednesday in a 73-60 loss to Taylor. She also totaled nine points, five assists, two steals and one rebound Jan. 14 in an 82-60 loss to Huntington and three points, two assists, one steal and one rebound Jan. 10 in an 80-53 loss to Marion.
