Jay Co. opens with victory

BLUFFTON — The Jay County Summer Swim Team opened its 2015 campaign Thursday with a 698-403 victory against Wells Community.
Four swimmers — Joshua Monroe, Sophie Bader, Anne Vormohr and Maddy Snow — earned wins in three events for Jay County..
Monroe took first in the 50-yard freestyle, 25 butterfly and 25 breaststroke. Bader won the 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Vormohr earned victories in the 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and Snow picked up wins in the 25 butterfly, 25 breaststroke and 25 freestyle.
Double winners for Jay County were Mara Bader (50 freestyle, 25 backstroke), Lillian Clemmons (100 freestyle, 50 backstroke), Ashlyn Dow (200 IM, 50 freestyle), Eliza Bader (50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke), Sok Vormohr (100 butterfly, 50 freestyle) and Jesse Brown (25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke).
Individual winners included Sophie Hoevel, George Clemmons, Christopher McDowell, Travis Barton, Elizabeth McDowell and Ian Reynolds. Also earning single victories were Austin Curtis, Morgan DeHoff, Erica Hathaway, Luke Nichols, Sophie Saxman, Ralph Link and Jason Minnich.
