Fort Recovery earns top seed

FRHS baseball

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Indians are staying at the top.
The Fort Recovery High School baseball team earned the No. 1 seed in the Division IV Coldwater district tournament.
The Indians (18-2, 5-1 Midwest Athletic Conference), who also remained at the top of the Division IV coaches’ poll released today, will host the sectional championship at home at 5 p.m. May 13. They will play the winner of an opening-round game between the No. 10 seed Lincolnview Lancers and 11th-seeded Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers. The Lancers will host the Tigers at 11 a.m. Saturday.

In the other sectional on the bottom half of the bracket, the third-seeded Crestview Knights will host either the No. 8 Marion Local Flyers or the ninth-seeded New Knoxville Rangers. The winners of that sectional and the Fort Recovery sectional advance to the district semifinal at 7 p.m. May 20 in Coldwater.
The top bracket features the No. 2 seeded Minster Wildcats playing host to either No. 7 Lima Perry or No. 12 Lima Temple Christian. The other sectional has Delphos St. John’s squaring off against New Bremen, with the winners advancing to play Spencerville in the sectional title game. Those two sectionals feed into the first district semifinal, which is slated for 4:30 p.m. May 20 at Coldwater.
The district championship is 7 p.m. May 23.
