Jay Co. roundup

PONETO — McKayla Norris kept the Raiders off the bases.
Southern Wells couldn’t stop the Patriot offense.
Norris tossed her first career no-hitter Tuesday, and the Jay County softball team registered 11 hits in a 13-0 victory over Southern Wells.
Jay County (12-9, 4-2 Allen County Athletic Conference) scored one run in each of the first, third and fourth innings before tacking on three in the fifth for a 6-0 advantage. The Patriot offense didn’t let up, adding seven more in the sixth to earn the lopsided win.
Chloe Steigerwalt tallied two singles and a double to lead the Patriots. Catherine Dunn had two doubles, walked twice and scored three times. Randi Auker drove in three runs on two hits as seven different players scored.
