Last week at Versailles: After a sluggish first half, Fort Recovery found its offense in a 27-13 victory against the Versailles Tigers. Caleb Martin threw three touchdown passes and ran for another, leading the Indians to a 21-point second half. Wide receiver Wes Wenning hauled in two touchdown passes and Darien Sheffer added the third.
Season leaders: Passing — Caleb Martin – 111-of-198 passing for 1,297 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Rushing — Kyle Schroer – 155 carries for 856 yards and 14 touchdowns. Receiving — Wes Wenning – 49 catches for 688 yards and four touchdowns. Defense — Jason Roessner – 89 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery. Andrew Stocker – 17 tackles for loss. Adam LeFevre – 8.5 sacks. Brandon?Schoen – five interceptions.

Last week vs. Jefferson Township: Miami Valley racked up 534 yards of total offense in a 35-0 clubbing of the Broncos. Quarterback Bransen Vilardo had 157 passing yards and another 136 on the ground as the Lions scored 21 points in the second quarter. Seth Henderson also added 121 yards on the ground for the MVCA.
Season leaders: Passing — Bransen Vilardo – 61-of-122 passing for 1,202 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Rushing — Vilardo – 121 carries for 802 yards and 15 touchdowns. James Heaton – 59 carries for 591 yards and 13 touchdowns. Receiving — Heaton – 31 catches for 776 yards and five touchdowns. Defense — Lukas Moreland — 74 tackles, two sacks and four forced fumbles.
Game notes: Fort Recovery enters the postseason ranked eighth in the final Division VII Associated Press poll, posting a school record for overall wins (eight) and conference wins (six) in a season ... This is the first meeting between the two schools, and the first home playoff game in Fort Recovery history ... Midwest Athletic Conference teams are 56-2 all-time in opening-round playoff games against non-MAC?schools ... FRHS?averages 24.5 points per game, while MVCA?is allowing 19.2 per game. The Indians have given up a program-best 10 points per game, and the Lions have averaged 34 points. MVCA?has outscored its opponents 83-0 in the last two games and 125-26 in the last three ... Fort Recovery’s only losses this season are to defending state champions Minster (14-12) and Marion Local (28-0) in back-to-back weeks. MVCA?has only played one team (Fayetteville Perry) with a winning record and lost 46-14 ... FRHS?senior Adam?LeFevre is a half sack away from tying the school record for sacks in a season (nine).
