FR grad a key for Cougars

Cassidy Rammel was a key player for the Tribe during her time in Fort Recovery.
She’s proven herself to play a vital role at the next level.
Rammel, a 2015 Fort Recovery High School graduate, notched one kill and three digs Wednesday for the University of Saint Francis volleyball team in a four-set loss to Bethel College.
The Cougars (8-16, 4-8 Crossroads League) dropped the match 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22.
Rammel totaled nine kills, eight digs, two blocks and an assist Saturday as the Cougars split two matches against IU East and Midway (Kentucky) at IU East. On Friday, she also tallied eight kills, 13 digs and an ace as the Cougars fell to both University of Windsor and NAIA No. 22 Madonna in Livonia, Michigan.
The freshman has seen action in 23 of the Cougars’ 24 matches this season.

Eric Hemmelgarn
Jay County – 2014
Had one tackle for the University of Saint Francis football team in a 49-25 victory against Siena Heights University Saturday in Fort Wayne.
Hemmelgarn, a redshirt freshman, teamed with Spencer Cowherd and Piercen Harnish for a stop in the third quarter after a 9-yard reception by Curtis Smith.
The win preserved an unbeaten record for the Cougars (6-0, 4-0 Mid-States Football Association Mideast League), who rose to No. 7 in the NAIA coaches’ poll.

Kelsey Fiely
Fort Recovery – 2013
Helped lead the University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball team’s defense Wednesday in a 25-10, 26-24, 19-25, 25-17 victory over Siena Heights.
Fiely was second for the Racers (8-16) with 11. She also had an ace.

Randa Gillespie
Jay County – 2012
Recorded double-digit digs Saturday in the Manchester University volleyball team’s 25-18, 25-16, 25-15 loss to undefeated Mount Vernon Nazarene.
