The Patriots are finally victorious.
And Jason Schlosser hit a career milestone in the process.
Schlosser, a senior, notched his first career hat trick on Monday, helping the Jay County High School boys soccer team to a 6-1 victory over the visiting Woodlan Warriors.
It was the first win of the season for the Patriots, who move to 1-2 on the year and 1-1 in Allen County Athletic Conference play.
Schlosser scored twice in the first half, the first on a heel kick on a scramble play in the 18-yard box. His second goal gave Jay County a 5-0 lead within the 28th minute.
He nearly had a natural hat trick, if not for Woodlan breaking the shutout with a goal eight minutes into the second half. But the former goalkeeper completed the hat trick minutes later for just the second multi-goal game of his career.
Daniel Fugiett got the Patriots started, scoring 45 seconds into the contest. Angel Perez added a goal off a corner kick, and Korbin Auker tallied his first mark of the season when he sent a cross pass toward the net that went over the Woodlan goalkeeper.
Zach Chaney and Fugiett also added assists.
