Two Indians repeat as All-MAC
Siefring, Thien named to list in back-to-back seasons
Kendra Siefring and Grace Thien are all-conference players again.
This season they have a couple first-time teammates join them.
Fort Recovery High School junior Whitney Will and Siefring, a senior, were named to the Midwest Athletic Conference first-team for girls basketball.
Siefring was second-team all-MAC as a junior. This is Will’s first time earning all-conference honors.
Thien, a sophomore was named to the second team after earning honorable mention her freshman year.
They helped lead the Indians to an 18-4 record and 7-2 mark in MAC play. The Tribe finished in a three-way tie for second in the conference with New Bremen and New Knoxville. Minster won the conference championship with a 9-0 record.
Will led the team in scoring this season, averaging 11.3 points per game to go with her 4.9 rebounds, which was second. Siefring was second on the team with 10.2 points per game and was the team’s leading rebounder with 5.9 per game.
Thien averaged 8.9 points per game, and was the Tribe’s best sharpshooter. She made 39 of her 103 attempts (37.9 percent).
Sophomore Carley Stone was given honorable mention, her first time receiving all-conference honors. She scored 5.9 points per game, grabbed 3.8 rebounds per game and led the team with 47 assists (2.1 per game).
Fort Recovery begins the Division III district tournament at 6:15 p.m. Saturday against Parkway at Wapakoneta.
