Chiefs top Titans

East Jay Middle School’s wrestling team picked up another victory Thursday, defeating the Muncie Northside Titans 61-24.
The win moved the Chiefs to 13-2 in dual meets on the season.
Dyllan Garringer (75 pounds), Lita Chowning (85), Brian Newman (125), Garrett Mann (150) and Cooper Jacks (200) all earned victories by pin. Blayne Daniels at 80 pounds and Zakk Atkins (110) won by decision.
Mason Winner (145), Derrick Allen (160), Dakota Lairson (175) and Levi Peterson (220) won by forfeit.
Winning their exhibition matches were Chandler Bush, Zeke Corwin, Jackson Lyons, Peterson and Winner.
Eagles drop three
DUNKIRK — West Jay’s wrestling team came out on the losing end of three dual matches Thursday.
The Eagles were shutout by the Union City Indians 33-0. West Jay then dropped matches to the Randolph Southern Rebels (24-18) and Winchester Driver Hawks (18-12).
Carter Mitchell (100 pounds) and Sean Ashley (120) both earned victories against Randolph Southern and Driver. Shyla Renner (185) picked up a win against the Rebels.
