Indians can’t answer Lancer depth

FORT RECOVERY — Scoring for the Lancers was evenly spread out.
Two players carried the weight for the Indians.
All five Lincolnview starters reached double figures whereas a pair of Tribe players did most of the work on offense Saturday as the Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team lost 69-56 on Saturday at Fort Site Fieldhouse.
Fort Recovery (5-2) trailed by one, 30-29, at halftime, but its offense went cold in the third quarter by scoring only nine points. The Lancers (10-0), however, kept up their offensive pressure by scoring 18 points in the frame to create separation and a 48-37 lead after three periods.
The Indians scored 18 points in the fourth quarter for their best offensive performance of the night. The Lancers were simply better down the stretch, also tallying the most points in any frame with 21 to keep the Tribe’s hopes of a rally at bay.
Fort Recovery senior Darien Sheffer was 8-of-11 from the field on his way to a game-high 23 points.

He made a pair of 3-pointers, was 5-for-7 from the free-throw line and had a team-high six rebounds.
Chase Bruns notched 11 points to go with his five rebounds. He also tallied two assists.
Brandon “Speedy” Schoen, Micaiah Cox and Matt Bihn all tallied seven points apiece.
Trevor Neate led the Lancers with 14 points. Derek Youtsey (13 points), Austin Leeth (12), Chandler Adams (10) and Hayden Ludwig (10) all reached double-digits for Lincolnview.
Lincolnview also won the junior varsity contest, 43-40. Fort Recovery sophomore Cade Wendel led all players with 16 points, and Payton Jutte added seven. Ryan Braun chipped in with six points.
Chayten Overholt and Ryan Rager led the Lancers with 12 and 10 points respectively.
