BERNE — The Starfire boys won every event.
The girls nearly did too.
South Adams High School’s boys and girls swim teams picked up wins Tuesday in a three-team meet with the Fort Recovery Indians and Minster Wildcats.
The Starfire boys scored 143 points for a commanding victory. The Wildcats were second with 54 points, and the Indians scored six points for third.
South Adams scored 96 points to win the girls’ meet. Minster scored 57 points to edge Fort Recovery by four.
Daniel Burson, Zach Teeple and David Steffen were all dual winners. Burson claimed victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 58.39 seconds) and the 500 freestyle (5:36.13). Teeple added wins in the 200 individual medley (2:18.88) and 100 backstroke (1:00.23), with Steffen finishing first in the 50 freestyle (23.11 seconds) and 100 freestyle (51.57).
Xavier Rupp (diving – 176.85), Drew LeFever (100 butterfly – 59.29) and Daniel Steffen (100 breaststroke – 1:09.48) also picked up individual wins.
Teeple, Burson and David Steffen joined Zach Colpaert to win the 400 freestyle (3:43.31) and teamed with Daniel Steffen for a victory in the 200 medley relay.
Jesse Sutton, Kamden Yoder, LeFever and Colpaert won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:44.78.
Ashton Klopp of South Adams was the lone dual winner in the girls’ meet. She won both the 50 freestyle (26.13) and 100 backstroke (1:03.2). Ashley LeFever (100 butterfly – 1:03.86), Brette Klopp (500 freestyle – 5:51.47) and Audrey Burson (100 breaststroke – 1:16.77) also earned individual victories.
LeFever and the Klopp twins joined Audrey Burson for a win in the 200 medley relay (1:59.31) and they teamed with Olivia Von Gunten to finish first in the 400 freestyle relay (3:59.78).
Cori Stone earned the only individual victory for Fort Recovery, finishing the 200 freestyle in 2:07.17. She also led off the Indians’ winning 200 freestyle relay team with Sophie Timmerman, Cassidy Martin and Alexis Bubp. They had a time of 1:51.08.
