FR girls win third straight

Local roundup

FORT RECOVERY — A third straight win didn’t seem likely after the first quarter.

The Tribe (10-2) trailed 17-13 after the first quarter, but caught fire to the tune of 21 points in the second for a 34-24 halftime lead. The Rams cut into that deficit in the third quarter, but a 16-9 advantage to the home team turned into a defeat for the visitors.

The Rams’ Emily Patton led all players with 20 points.
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team turned a 17-1 first-quarter advantage into a 36-19 victory. Chloe Metzger had a game-high 17 points, and Hannah Knapke chipped in with 11.
