Saturday vs. Adams Central: Jay County overcame a seven-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, forced overtime and outscored Adams Central 10-3 in the extra period for a 47-41 victory at South Adams to claim the ACAC tournament championship. Senior Kyler Carvel came up big, scoring a team-high 12 points and adding a game-sealing steal in overtime. Tournament MVP Adam Dirksen and Jay Houck both had 11 points.
Season leaders (per game): Points — Houck 14.8, Dirksen 14.2, Carvel 6.8. Rebounds — Dirksen 6.4, Houck 5.8. Assists — Carvel 2.8.

Saturday vs. Southern Wells: South Adams had all five starters score in double figures in a 59-43 victory against Southern Wells in the ACAC tournament consolation game. Jared Grabau had a game-high 15 points, and Marcus Teeter chipped in with 14 points. Cole Myers, Kody Fike and Justin?Nussbaum scored 10 points each.
Season leaders (per game): Points — Teeter 12.9, Myers 12.1, Grabau 11.6. Rebounds — Fike 6.4, Nussbaum 4.8. Assists — Teeter 4.4.
Last meeting: Jay County was 65 percent from the field in the first half and 68 percent after intermission in a 75-41 rout of South Adams Jan. 13 in the opening round of the Allen County Athletic Conference tournament. The Patriots’ Houck and Dirksen both shared the game-high in scoring with 19 points, and Carvel had a career-high 15 in the lopsided victory. Grabau and Myers led South Adams with 14 and 13 points respectively.
Game notes: Jay County is 36-6 all-time against South Adams, and has now won 15 straight meetings and 21 of the last 22. The last South Adams victory against Jay County was a 49-35 win Dec. 9, 2001 ... Jay County is allowing 41.25 points per game, which is second in Class 4A and ninth overall.
