Swimmers dominate Union City

Jay County moves to 3-0 in dual meets this season

The Jay County Summer Swim Team lost only nine of 82 possible races on Tuesday, defeating Union City 1,045-246 at Union City Pool.
Maddy Snow, Mara Bader and Juan Pablo Wiggins won three events apiece. Snow (8-and-younger) won long freestyle, backstroke and individual medley; Bader (11-12-year-old) finished first in the long freestyle, backstroke and short freestyle; and Wiggins (13-14-year-old) earned victories in the butterfly, backstroke and IM events.

Double winners in the 8-and-younger division were Sophie Hoevel, George Clemmons and Jesse Brown. Morgan DeHoff and Hannah Laux picked up a pair of victories in the 9-10-year-old division, with Elayna Paro, Konner Sommers and Dorane Beiswanger each winning two races in the 11-12-year-old division. Dual winners in the 15-and-older division were Vivienne Kunkler, Kaitlyn Dow, Sok Vormohr and Garrett Campbell.
A total of 20 swimmers won an individual event. Those included Mikalah Shauver, Sophe Saxman, Creed Beiswanger, Lincoln Clamme, Timo Minnich, Damian Hicks, Ben Nichols, Nico Minnich, Natalie Blakeley and Erica Hathaway. Also winning a single race were Ashlyn Dow, Eliza Bader, Lillian Clemmons, Emma James, Griffin Mann, Ben Strausburg, Sophie Bader, Anne Vormohr, Jason Minnich and Luke Nichols.
