Chiefs win two, Eagles lose two

East Jay Middle School’s wrestling team earned two victories Tuesday in a double dual with West Jay and Blackford.
The Eagles lost twice.
East Jay defeated West Jay 78-12 before beating Blackford 74-20.
West Jay also lost to the Bruins, 54-21.
East Jay’s Blayne Daniels, Dawson Hundley, Jackson Lyons, Braden McIntire and Ethan Corwin all won their respective matches against county rival West Jay by pin. Dyllan Garringer, Lita Chowning, Zakk Atkins, Brian Newman, Mason Winner, Garrett Mann, Derrick Allen and Cooper Jacks all received forfeits.
West Jay’s Carter Mitchell won by pin for West Jay against the Chiefs, and Tre Bishop earned a forfeit.
Against the Bruins, East Jay’s Hundley, Lyons, McIntire, Winner, Allen and Jacks won by pin. Daniels earned a tech fall victory, and Ian Ruiz won by a 2-1 decision. Hunter Mills, Garringer, Mann, Corwin and Levi Peterson each received forfeits.
West Jay’s Gage Baker and Sean Ashley each won their matches against Blackford by pin, Mitchell won by a 6-0 decision and Bishop received a forfeit.
West Jay travels to Muncie on Thursday to take on the Southside Panthers. East Jay heads to Union City Thursday for a double-dual with Randolph Southern.
