The Pilots struggled during Collin Affolder’s freshman season.
It’s gotten even more difficult during his sophomore year.
Affolder, a 2014 South Adams High School graduate, had one hit in three at bats for the Bethel College baseball team Tuesday in a 4-0 loss to Robert Morris University.
It was the third consecutive loss for the Pilots, who fell to 1-11 on the season. They were 18-27 last year.
Affolder’s single was one of eight hits for Bethel, but it was unable to push across any runs during the first game of a doubleheader.
The Pilots then lost 6-2 in game two, during which Affolder was hitless in three at bats.
The former Starfire has a .189 batting average with three walks and 11 strikeouts in 12 games so far this season.
