Homans play a part in Tribe’s rebound
Trio help Indians to 7-3 victory
FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — The Tribe has four Homans on its team.
Three of them had a big part in the Indians bouncing back from a heartbreaking loss.
Ross Homan hit his first career home run, Ben Homan had an RBI triple to extend a lead and Jacob Homan limited damage on the mound as the Fort Recovery High School baseball team defeated the Fort Loramie Redskins on Friday, 7-3.
Fort Recovery (16-7) fell behind 2-0 after the fifth inning. Senior Jacob Homan had a game-tying RBI single in the top of the sixth that scored Cade Wendel and also saw Jackson Hobbs come around for the go-ahead run. Ben Homan, Jacob’s sophomore brother, drove in his sibling for a 4-2 FRHS advantage, and then scored on an error for a 5-2 Tribe lead.
Fort Loramie answered with a run in the bottom half of the sixth to make it 5-3, then Ross Homan — no relation to the brothers — blasted his first career home run, a solo shot to lead off the seventh, to spark a two-run frame for the Tribe.
Jacob Homan started on the bump, tossing 5 1/3 innings while giving up three runs — two earned — on six hits. He struck out four and didn’t allow a walk, pushing his record to 2-1 on the season.
Hunter Boughman was effective in relief, throwing 1 2/3 innings. He have up one hit and nothing else for his first career save.
