Fort Recovery freshman wins MAC title

Fort Recovery roundup

FORT RECOVERY — Robby LeFevre solidified himself as the fastest sprinter in the conference.
And he’ll have a chance to prove himself for three more years.
LeFevre, a Fort Recovery High School freshman, finished first in the 100-meter dash during the Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships on Friday.
He also added a pair of second-place finishes in helping the FRHS boys track team finish third with 81 points.
Minster swept the boys and girls team titles, scoring 158.5 and 183.5 points respectively. Versailles was runner up in both, with the Tiger boys totaling 151 points and the girls scoring 112. Fort Recovery’s girls were seventh with 36 points.
LeFevre crossed the finish line in the 100 dash in 11.53 seconds. He was also the runner-up in the 200 dash (23.53) and the 110 hurdles (16.02). The Tribe’s 4x200 relay team also claimed a MAC championship.
Placing in the top eight for the FRHS boys were Travis Sutter (third – 3,200 run), Wes Wenning (fifth – 100 dash), Caleb Martin (sixth – 200 dash) and Isaac Siegrist (eighth – 1,600 run).
Kiah Wendel was seventh in both the 100 and 200 dashes for the FRHS girls. Cassy Martin finished second in the 400 dash, Alexis Hobbs was seventh in the 800 run and Chloe Will finished eighth in the 3,200 run.

Three make first team
Three members of the Fort Recovery High School baseball team were named to the All-Midwest Athletic Conference first team Saturday.
Seniors Jackson Hobbs and Jacob Homan, as well as sophomore Cade Wendel were given first-team all conference honors. Hobbs was named as a pitcher, with Homan and Wendel both making the team as infielders.
Sophomore outfielder Nick Thwaits earned a nod for the second team, and senior Kyle Schroer, senior Ross Homan and junior Hunter Boughman earned honorable mention.
Fort Recovery (18-7) meets conference rival St. Henry at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Coldwater in the Division IV district semifinal.

Timmerman second team
Chelsea Timmerman was one of three Fort Recovery softball players to earn all-conference honors on Saturday.
The senior was the lone representative on either the first or second all-Midwest Athletic Conference teams. She earned second-team honors as a pitcher and outfielder.
Juniors Audra Metzger and Devin Post were given honorable mention for the Indians, who finished the season 3-19 and 0-6 in conference play.
