Last week vs. South Adams: South Adams scored late, but the Jay County defense stood tall on the potential go-ahead two-point conversion to preserve a 29-28 homecoming victory. Bryan Stancliffe, Cole Stigleman and twins Michael and?Ryan Schlechty each scored for the?Patriots.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 34-of-65 passing for 640 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Rushing — Cole Stigleman – 94 carries for 558 yards and four touchdowns. Receiving — Bryan Stancliffe – 12 catches for 293 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 88 tackles, four tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Last week vs. Hammond: Marshall lost to the visiting Hammond Wildcats 44-8 for its 20th straight loss dating to 2014. The Patriots set a new season high for points scored in a game.

Last season: Jay County scored 43 points in the second quarter on its way to a 64-8 victory over the host Patriots. Cole Stigleman had 166 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and Drew Huffman also scored three times as Jay County had a 354-159 advantage in total offense.

Game notes: This is the second meeting between Patriot squads, with Jay County winning the only other contest last year  ... Marshall was held scoreless through its first five games of the season before putting up six and eight points respectively in the last two weeks. Opposing teams are averaging 50 points per game against Marshall ...
