Last week vs. Indianapolis Marshall: Jay County rushed for more than 300 yards in a 54-8 rout of the visiting Marshall Patriots. Cole Stigleman had 173 rushing yards and Jacob Geesaman had 104 as they both scored two touchdowns. Ryan Schlechty also found the end zone twice.
Statistical leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 36-of-68 for 699 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Cole Stigleman – 111 carries for 743 yards and six touchdowns. Receiving — Bryan Stancliffe – 12 catches for 294 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 94 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Last week vs. Southern Wells: Heritage scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters in a 21-0 victory against the Southern Wells Raiders. Jeshua Foster and Evan Knapke each had a rushing touchdown, and quarterback Jonathan McNeal threw a TD pass to Blake Rhymer.
Statistical leaders: Passing — Jonathan McNeal – 12-of-28 for 147 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Jeshua Foster – 140 carries for 675 yards and four touchdowns. Receiving — Joel Deakins – five catches for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Last season: Heritage needed less than three minutes to score in a 37-0 victory over Jay County in Portland. The visiting Patriots outgained the home team 425-280, and led on the scoreboard 23-0 at halftime. JCHS senior Drew Huffman led the Patriots with 114 rushing yards, and cole Stigleman followed with 35 yards.

Game notes: This is the seventh meeting all time between the Patriot squads, with Heritage holding a 5-1 advantage in the series. Jay County’s only win was a 32-27 triumph in 2013.
