Chiefs sweep Driver
The Chief seventh graders had to rally for their victory.
The eighth grade squad cruised to its win.
East Jay Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams defeated visiting Winchester Driver on Thursday.
The seventh graders dropped the first set 25-23, then won the next two 25-14, 25-6 for a season-opening win. The EJMS eighth grade team cruised, winning both sets by a 25-7 margin.
Maddy Wenk and Madison Jetmore each tallied 10 service points in leading the seventh grade squad, which also got seven points and two kills from Madison Dirksen as well as four points and a kill from Ralyn Chaffins. Jayden Claytor chipped in with three points.
Pacie Denney and Kearsten Myers both had 10 points to lead the eighth graders. Grace Saxman and Denney totaled three aces apiece as well.
