CULVER — The Starfire girls picked up yet another victory.
Bailey McIntire was near the top again too.
The South Adams High School cross country team had two place in the top 10 as it won the closed division of the Culver Invitational.
The Starfires scored 90 points to win the 23-team race, edging runner up Rensselaer Central by six points. Morgan Township was third with 119.
South Adams senior Bailey McIntire competed individually in elite division, and he was third overall.
In the boys closed division, Cardinal Ritter won with 133 points, South Central was second with 135 and Brown County placed third with 144. South Adams was seventh with 225.
Olivia Von Gunten was the top SAHS girl, as she finished sixth in 20 minutes, 23 seconds. Kallee Patch was one spot behind in 20:34. Eliza Harruff placed 21st in 21:25, Kara Seffernick was 27th in 21:44 and Olivia Mason finished 29th in 21:53.
McIntire, who finished 11th in the state as a junior, had a time of 15:41.3 on Saturday, as the first runner from Indiana to cross the finish line. Teammates Danny Kilrea and Vince Zona of Lyons Township (Illinois) were first and second respectively. Kilrea had a time of 15:25.1.

In the boys’ closed race, Wyatt Miller was the top Starfire runner, finishing ninth in 17:37. Victor Vasquez placed 34th in 18:36, and Luke Gerber finished 46th in 18:47.
Completing the Starfires’ team score were Trey Lehman (65th – 19:31) and Kamden Yoder (71st – 19:37).
In the middle school girls race, South Adams placed 12th out of 33 teams, scoring 392 points. West Lafayette (99) won, Schmucker (110) was second and Benjamin Fran-klin placed third with 122.
The SAMS boys placed 21st out of 35 teams, scoring 534 points. Chesterton won the team title with 75 points, Morgan Township was runner up with 121 and West Lafayette placed third with 154.
McKenzie Sturwold was 13th to lead the Starfire girls. She had a time of 12:10. Jocelyn Willis was 30th in 12:35, Megan Miller placed 39th in 12:43, Ella Neuenschwander finished 119th in 13:50 and Addisyn Hunley was 191st in 15:06.
Clancy McIntire led the SAMS boys, finishing 35th in 11:21. Race Anderson placed 77th in 11:51, Aidan Von Gunten was 120th in 12:18, Isaac Gorrell finished 146th in 12:35 and Brady Fox crossed the finish line in 12:49 for 156th.
Also running for the SAHS girls were Isabel Von Gunten (38th – 22:23) and Hadi Hawbaker (40th – 22:25). For the SAHS boys were Dario Banuelos (90th – 20:14) and Nick Stutzman (151st – 22:50).
Running for the SAMS girls was Clancy Hawbaker (223 (18:07); and for the SAMS boys were Kaleb Stevens (166th – 12:56) and Brendan Campbell (206th – 13:48).
