Last week vs. Woodlan: Jay County fumbled on each of its first three possessions in a 40-7 loss to the Class 2A No. 2 Woodlan Warriors. Parker Grimes connected with Ryan Schlecthy for the Patriots’ only score.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 30-of-53 for 534 yards and five touchdowns and one interception. Parker Grimes – 10-of-22 for 174 yards and one touchdown. Rushing — Cole Stigleman – 82 carries for 478 yards and six touchdowns. Receiving — Bryan Stancliffe – eight catches for 191 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 73 tackles, four tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one sack.

Last week vs. Adams Central: Adams Central, which was ranked fifth in Class A, capitalized on two South Adams turnovers in a 45-14 victory. Joe Stuber had 56 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Drake Deitsch totaled 83 yards and a touchdown.
Season leaders: Passing — Marcus Teeter – 37-of-75 for 465 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushing — Joe Stuber – 57 carries for 446 yards and six touchdowns. Receiving — Cameron Cook – 11 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — James Groh – 27 tackles, six tackles for loss and three sacks.
Last season: Then-sophomore Cole Stigleman scored three touchdowns in the first half as Jay County shut out host South Adams, 32-0. Stigleman had 141 total yards. Drew LeFever led South Adams with 104 yards on 22 carries.
Game notes: This is the eighth meeting all time between South Adams and Jay County, with the Patriots holding a 5-2 advantage in the series ... Jay County is averaging 23.2 points while allowing 24 points per game. South Adams scores an average of 25.3 points per game while just giving up 13 points per game, including two shutouts ... This is Jay County’s homecoming game, with the king and queen to be crowned at halftime.
