Two starts, two wins.
Jackson Hobbs, a 2016 Fort Recovery High School graduate, picked up his second win in as many starts for the Edison State Community College baseball team in a 5-2 victory over Ohio State University-Lima on Sunday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Hobbs went the distance, scattering two hits over seven innings. He took a shutout into the top of the seventh before giving up two earned runs. He also notched five strikeouts and allowed two walks.
The freshman helped himself out at the plate by drawing two walks and scoring twice.
Hobbs has appeared in three games for the Chargers (9-6) with a 2-0 record and one save. He’s compiled 13 strikeouts in 17 innings, allowed three earned runs and walked three. He has a 1.59 ERA and opposing batters have a .153 average against him.

The afternoon session saw the Hoosiers, with coxswain Kelsey Schmidt, place second in 8:28.4. Kansas won in 8:11.9.

Won yet again for the Trine University women’s tennis team on Friday in its 5-4 loss to Adrian.
Braun moved up one spot to No. 5 singles and defeated Olivia Neumann 6-4, 6-3. The victory extended her season- and career-opening winning streak to seven matches.
Trine fell to 2-10 (0-1 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) on the year.

Earned a pair of top-six finishes for the Miami University men’s track team as it hosted the Miami Duals on Saturday.
The junior was fifth in pole vault
Shreve helped the 4x400 relay team place fifth in 3 minutes, 32.8 seconds, and competed in the 110-meter hurdles, missing the top eight with a time of 15.85 seconds.

South Adams – 2016
Earned two top-10 finishes for the Taylor University men’s track team as it placed fourth in the Hanover College Invitational on Saturday.
The freshman was third in
In the hammer throw, LeFever’s distance of 32.65 meters was 26th.
The Trojans scored 70 points. Indiana Wesleyan won with 148 points.
Abbi Dunlavy

Was part of a winning relay for the IPFW women’s track team as it finished fifth Friday in the Big Blue Classic hosted by Eastern Illinois.
Dunlavy joined Kailee Schoof, Emily Roman and Emma Rafuse to win the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 10 minutes, 7.1 seconds.

The Mastodons scored 55 points to place fifth. Illinois State won with 194.5 points.

Competed for the Indiana Wesleyan University women’s track team as it finished second Saturday at the Hanover Invitational.
The junior was 20th in the 1,500 run, finishing with a time of 5 minutes, 24.5 seconds.
IWU totaled 148 points, behind Cedarville’s 164.

Registered six hits in the span of five games for the Bethel College baseball team.
Affolder drove in one run on two hits and scored once in a 4-3 win Tuesday over Cornerstone in the second game of a doubleheader.

Notched a hit and scored a run for the Brescia University softball team as it split a doubleheader Sunday with West Virginia Tech.
Dunn scored once as the Bearcats (11-13, 5-3 River States Conference) beat WVU Tech 7-3. She added a hit in a 9-1 loss in game two.
