Junior Cassy Martin gets two victories and helps a winning relay for the Tribe
LIMA, Ohio — The Indians are climbing the ranks during invitational meets.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls swim team finished second on Thursday in the Lima Holiday Invitational at YMCA of Lima.
The Indians totaled 276 points to finish a distant second behind Celina (407) out of 20 teams.
It is the best finish this season for Fort Recovery, which was third in the Celina Sprints on Dec. 2 at Jay County.
Results for the boys meet were not provided.
Cassy Martin, a junior, was first in a pair of races and helped a winning relay. She won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.42 seconds, and claimed a victory in the 100 freestyle in 56.65 seconds.
Ava Bubp beat the field in the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 59.91 seconds.
Paige Fortkamp, Sophie Timmerman, Alexis Bubp and Martin combined to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:45.97.
The Indians return to the pool at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at South Adams.
