BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Last season, a Fort Recovery senior earned a district medal.

This year it was a relay team that came home with hardware.

Fort Recovery High School’s 400-yard freestyle relay finished eighth in the Division II Northwest District meet at Bowling Green State University.

The Tribe girls placed 14th as a team.

Cassy Martin, Sophie Timmerman, Faith Hull and Alexis Bubp
combined to finish eighth in the 400 freestyle relay in 3 minutes, 50.14 seconds, to earn a district medal, one year after Cori Stone became the program’s first district medalist.

The same quartet was 12th in the 200 medley relay with its time of 1:57.76.

Martin also added a ninth-place finish in the 100 freestyle and was 10th in the 50 freestyle, breaking her own records in the process. She had a time of 55.23 seconds in the former and 25.31 seconds in the latter.

Timmerman also broke her own record in the 100 breaststroke, finishing 10th in 1:10.38. Bubp placed 11th in the 100 freestyle in 56.09 seconds.

The FRHS boys also competed in two events. Harrison Kaup, Robby LeFevre, Owen Sheridan and Nolan Thobe broke their own record in the 200 freestyle, placing 21st in 1:39.93 seconds. Sheridan finished 31st in the 100 butterfly.
