Ring in top 10 for JC Flipsters
Gymnast is 10th over the weekend in Fort Wayne
FORT WAYNE — Makenzie Ring earned a top-10 finish in all-around for the JC Flipsters on Saturday and Sunday in the Walk of Fame Classic.
Ring, a 12-and-older Level 7 gymnast, totaled 34.575 on all-around to finish 10th. Her best place was an 8.65 on vault (eighth). She also scored an 8.45 on beam to place ninth, was 10th on uneven bars with 8.65 and earned 8.825 on floor exercise.
Katie Rowles, an 8-year-old Level 3 competitor, placed 12th on bars (7.75), floor (8.05) and all-around (31.6). She was also 13th on beam (7.4) and 12th on vault (8.4).
Calie Yates was one place behind Rowles on all-around with her score of 31.4. She was 10th on vault (8.7), 11th on beam (7.8) and 13th on both floor (7.85) and bars (7.05).
Kami Fulford’s all-around total of 32.525 was 13th in 12-and-older Level 3. She was third on floor (9.0), 13th on beam (8.1) and 14th on both vault (8.25) and bars (7.175).
In the 10-and-11-year-old Level 3 competition, Karci Hopkins was eighth on floor (8.775), 10th on beam (8.45) and vault (8.825), and placed 13th on bars (7.67) for an all-around total of 33.65. In the same division, Makinsey Murhpy was 12th on both floor (8.4) and bars (7.725), placed 13th on vault (8.45) and 14th on beam (8.075) to finish with an all-around score of 32.65.
Erin Ring, a 10-and-11-year-old Level 4 gymnast, finished 16th in all-around with her score of 30.925. Her best place came on floor (8.35) as she was 13th. She was also 14th on vault (7.65), 16th on beam (7.925) and 17th on bars (7.0).
