FORT RECOVERY — The Redskins had a lead for 2 minutes, 14 seconds.

The Indians never trailed again.

Fort Recovery High School’s boys basketball team forced 16 second-half turnovers in a 51-46 victory against Midwest Athletic Conference rival St. Henry on Friday night at Fort Site Fieldhouse.

The Indians (5-1, 2-0 MAC) led 24-23 at halftime, but that’s when the struggles started for the visiting Redskins (4-5, 0-2 MAC). Fort Recovery scored the first nine points of the second half to lead 32-23. Meanwhile, the Redskins committed seven turnovers in the third period as the Indians led by as many as 10 points late in the quarter.

Ryan Bruening made two bonus free throws to get St. Henry as close as two points with 5:48 to play in the game, but Fort Recovery was able to do just enough to keep its closest conference rival at bay.

Caleb Martin, another Tribe senior, was 5-for-8 and 2-of-3 from the stripe as he scored eight points. Martin also shared the team high of six rebounds with Micaiah Cox, who tied Travis Sutter for third on the team with seven points.
