Cady Farlow has another shot at swimming in the national championships.
Farlow, a 2015 South Adams High School graduate, posted an NCAA B cut for the Purdue University women’s swim team in its 203-92 home victory Friday against Michigan State.
The sophomore won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 2.3 seconds, earning her second national B cut of the season. She also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.77, and joined Hanna House, Meagan Lim and Roxy Griffore to win the 200 medley relay. Farlow swam the breaststroke leg in 28.33 seconds, helping the Boilermakers to a meet-opening victory in 1:43.37.
Farlow’s first surpassed the NCAA B standard during a meet at Virginia Tech in November. She had a time of 2:14.8 seconds in the 200 breaststroke to beat the B standard of 2:15.99.
Wade Gelhaus

Missed just one of his field-goal attempts as he had his best scoring output of the season Jan. 12 in an 82-76 loss to Northern Michigan.
Gelhaus went 6-of-7 from the field as he posted a season- and team-high 16 points. He also shared the team high of eight rebounds to go along with three assists and one steal.
He also had a team-high eight rebounds and seven points for the Cardinals (11-5) on Saturday in a 93-72 loss to Michigan Tech.

Picked up one individual victory and helped two winning relays for the University of the Cumberlands women’s swim team Saturday in its 156-108 victory over Asbury University.
The sophomore won the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 3.7 seconds. She was also second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:25.44.
Smeltzer helped the Patriots open the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. She swam the freestyle leg in 25.82 seconds, joining Dasha Korostina, Tara Maletin and Christina Klouda to finish with a time of 1:51.15. She also swam the first leg of the 200 freestyle relay in 52.56, teaming with Grace Moffat, Maria Nogueira and Brittany Litke for a time of 1:44.64.
Scott Schwieterman

Recorded a double-double in each of his last two games as the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team ran its winning streak to five games.
On Wednesday night, Schwieterman scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Warriors’ 62-58 victory over Madonna. He also had a couple of assists and one steal.
The junior totaled 11 rebounds, 10 points, two blocks and an assist for Indiana Tech (16-5) in Saturday’s 70-58 win over Siena Heights.

Posted a new career high in scoring for the University of Rio Grande women’s basketball team Tuesday in its 77-76 loss to Alice Lloyd.
The freshman was 3-for-6 from the field and made 10 of her 14 free throws to finish with a team-high 16 points. Her previous career-best was nine points on Jan. 9 against high school teammate Catherine Dunn and the Brescia Bearcats. Wendel also grabbed two rebounds and had two assists.
She scored eight points, had three assists and two rebounds as the Red Storm (12-8, 4-4 River States Conference).

Shared the team high in scoring for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Friday in its 72-63 victory over Cincinnati Christian.
The sophomore was 4-for-6 from the field and made six of her seven free throws to finish with 14 points. She tied Kelsey Kirkpatrick for the team lead. Dunn also hauled in five rebounds, two assists and one block.
She tallied two points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist Saturday as the Bearcats (3-18, 1-7 River States Conference) lost to IU Kokomo.

Earned one win and was part of two second-place relays for the Tiffin University men’s swim team on Saturday in its 88-82 loss to Edinboro University.
Keen won the 200-yard backstroke in 1 minute, 59.94 seconds. He also swam the backstroke leg of the 200 medley relay team of Petko Toromanov, Seth Tessmer and Matt Campbell, which was second in 1:42.66. He had a split time of 25.65 seconds.
The former Patriot swam the third leg of the 200 freestyle relay in 22.66 seconds. He joined Lucas Merigue Bernardo, Ygor Zanardo Bortolato and Campbell to finish with a time of 1:30.03.

Dished out a team-high six assists Tuesday as the NAIA Division II No. 3 University of St. Francis men’s basketball team fell 84-78 to Spring Arbor.
Comer also had nine points, five rebounds and two steals for the Cougars (15-6). He also had 11 points, five assists, five rebounds, one block and one steal Saturday in an 85-81 loss to 10th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan.

Came off the bench for the Huntington University women’s basketball team Saturday in its 89-49 loss to Marian.
The freshman was 1-for-3 from the field to finish with two points. She also had two rebounds for the Foresters (9-10, 3-5 Crossroads League).
Elijah Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2014
Struggled shooting for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Jan. 12 in its 80-65 loss to Hillsdale.
Kahlig was 1-for-6 from the field, including a 1-for-5 performance from long range. He also had two steals for the Oilers (12-3, 6-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).
