Bluffton has the early lead heading into today’s swimming championships, which begins at 10 a.m. The Tiger girls have 26 points, the Patriots, who are two-time defending champions, are two points behind in second and South Adams is third with 12 points.
The Tiger boys are also in first with 40 points. South Adams’ 12 points leads Jay County by two.
Bluffton’s Cassidy Hiday won the girls event with a score of 323.95. Jay County’s Samantha Link was second with 278.05, Isabel Von Gunten of South?Adams placed third with 264.45, Jay County’s Mackenzie Knisely was fourth with 258.55 points and Bluffton’s Hailey Lewis scored 248.1 for fifth.
Evan Kitt of Bluffton won the boys event with a score of 316.6, ahead of teammate Colton Anderson’s 293.3.
Tyler Yoder of South Adams placed third with 278.75, Hayden Craighead of Bluffton was fourth with a score of 274 and Jay County’s Gabe Blankenship scored 234.6 to finish in fifth.
