INDIANAPOLIS — Max Moser was a catalyst in the Patriot baseball team winning a conference championship.
Friday he earned statewide honors for his efforts on the diamond.
Moser, who this spring completed his junior year at Jay County High School, earned honorable mention all-state for Class 3A by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Eleven players in Class 3A were named first team all-state, while an additional 25 were given honorable mention.
Moser, a third baseman and the squad’s No. 5 hitter, helped Jay County to a 15-6 record, including a 7-0 mark in the Allen County Athletic Conference to win the team’s first ACAC title.
He led the team with a .478 batting average, .542 on base percentage and 1.136 slugging percentage. He was also tops on the team in hits (33), tied for the most singles and RBIs with 27 and 33 respectively, and was second with nine doubles.
Moser ended the season on an 18-game hitting streak and was the only player on the team to reach base safely in all 21 games.
