The summer swimmers from Jay County march on.
The Jay County Summer Swim team cruised to an 817-366 victory over the Fort Recovery Eels on Monday at Portland Water Park.
Jay County moves to 3-0 on the season, while the Eels lost for the first time this year and are 3-1.
Eight Jay County swimmers won three individual events. They were Raif Baiswanger (8-and-younger), Morgan DeHoff (9-10-year-old), Maddy Snow (9-10-year-old), Mara Bader (11-12-year-old), Josh Monroe (11-12-year-old), Eliza Bader (13-14-year-old), Alex Bader (15-and-older) and Jason Minnich (15-and-older).
Winning a pair of events apiece were Creed Beiswanger (9-10-year-old), Daniel Fennig (9-10-year-old), Damian Hicks (13-14-year-old), Griffin Mann (13-14-year-old) and Chase McFarland (13-14-year-old).
Jay County swimmers picking up one win each were Adria Roessner (8-and-younger), Maria Laux (8-and-younger), Grant Glentzer (8-and-younger), Alex Miller (8-and-younger), Tony Beiswanger (8-and-younger), Matthew Fisher (9-10-year-old), Hannah Laux (11-12-year-old), Sophie Saxman (11-12-year-old), Rieley Brewster (13-14-year-old), Elayna Paro (13-14-year-old), Kyle Sanders (13-14-year-old), Cameron Weimert (13-14-year-old), Erica Hathaway (15-and-older) and Ben Strausburg (15-and-older).
Makenna Huelskamp (8-and-younger) and Eli Lennartz (9-and-10-year-old) were the only triple-event winners for Fort Recovery, which also got a pair of victories from Cassy Martin (15-and-older).
Kiera Stump (8-and-younger), Tiegan Fortkamp (11-12-year-old), Sage Wendel (11-12-year-old), Kyra Clark (13-14-year-old), Alexis Bubp (15-and-older) and Nolan Thobe (15-and-older) all won a single event.
Jay County won eight of the 10 medley relay races and claimed victories in nine of the 10 freestyle relays.
Both teams return to action Thursday. Jay County will travel to Bluffton to take on the Tigers at 6 p.m. while Fort Recovery hosts St. Henry at 6:30 p.m.
