The Fort Wayne TinCaps started hot in the first inning but fizzled quickly.
Fort Wayne scored a run in the bottom of the first inning but the lead was short-lived in a 10-1 loss to the Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays) at Parkview Field.
Lansing erased the one-run deficit with a five-spot in the second inning, and scored one more in the sixth before plating three runs in the seventh inning. The Lugnuts added one more in the ninth.
Jeisson Rosario led off the home half of the first for the TinCaps with an inside-the-park home run. Fort Wayne had seven more hits in the game — two each by Tre Carter and Justin Lopez — but left 10 men on bases.
Notes: The TinCaps fell to 0-5 on the season. ... The San Diego Padres’ No. 2 prospect MacKenzie Gore will make his professional debut tonight as he gets the start on the mound. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Parkview Field.
