Drew LeFever, Abigail Scott and Sydney Robbins had participated in track meets together while in high school.
They met again at the next level.
LeFever, a 2016 South Adams High School graduate, and JCHS grads Scott and Robbins all competed in the Indiana Little State Championships Friday and Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan.
LeFever, a sophomore at Taylor, earned a pair of fourth-place finishes in throwing events.
He had a distance of 50 feet, 0.5 inches, inshot put, and launched the discus 142 feet, 2 inches.
He was also 15th in the hammer throw at 139 feet.
Robbins, a sophomore atUniversity of Saint Francis, was sixth in javelin with a distance of 101 feet, 3 inches.
Scott,a IWU senior, was six spots behind her former Patriot teammate with her javelin throw of 84 feet, 1 inch.
Scott was also ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, just missing scoring a point for the Wildcats with her time of 12 minutes, 33.65 seconds.
LeFever and the Trojans scored 71 points for fifth. Scott’s Wildcats totaled 136.5 points to place third, while Robbins and the Cougars were seventh with 51.

Went 1-2 pitching recently for the University of Saint Francis softball team.
The freshman tossed a one-hitter Friday in a 2-1 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene. She gave up one earned run over seven innings, while striking out three and walking four.
She lasted just 1 2/3 innings Friday in a 10-1 loss to Taylor University. She allowed three earned runs on three hits, walked four and struck out a pair.
Two days later, she took a defeat against Huntington. Augsburger surrendered eight runs — six earned — on eight hits over six innings. She gave up 10 walks and struck out two as the Cougars (17-24, 10-18 Crossroads League) lost 8-3.
Augsburger is 4-10 on the year.

Helped the Trine University women’s tennis team clinch a conference tournament berth Wednesday with a 7-2 win over Alma College.
Braun won her No. 5 singles match over Amy Wood, 6-1, 6-0, then joined Katie Simon to defeat Bernadette Garibay and Wood in their No. 3 doubles match 8-2.
The win gives the Thunder (11-9, 4-4 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) their first MIAA tournament berth since 2008.
On Friday in an 8-1 loss to Calvin College, Braun had Trine’s only win at No. 5 singles. She defeated Alexis Bonner 6-2, 7-6.

Scored for the Butler University women’s track team as it competed in the Pacesetter Sports Invitational hosted by Indiana State on Friday and Saturday.
The sophomore finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 0.77 seconds, as she was less than a second behind teammate Madeline Miller.
Indiana State swept the top two spots, with Oschtisha Jackson winning in 55.44 seconds.
The Bulldogs were fifth out of five teams with 25 points. The host Sycamores scored 354 points for the win.

Notched the first multi-hit game of his career for the Huntington University baseball team Wednesday in the second game of a doubleheader with the Taylor Trojans.
The senior started at third base, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI as the Foresters won, 3-2.
Selvey also had an RBI single Friday, helping the Foresters (17-18, 15-6 Crossroads League) defeat Bethel College 3-0 in the final game of a doubleheader with the Pilots. He raised his average to .250.
Collin Affolder

Extended his hitting streak to seven games for the Bethel College baseball team by recording a hit in both games of a doubleheader Friday with Huntington University.
Affolder was 1-for-2 with a double in a 2-1 victory, then went 1-for-3 in a 3-0 loss in game two for the Pilots (13-25, 5-17 Crossroads League). Affolder has recorded a hit in all but 10 games this season forBethel, and is batting .323 with seven doubles, a triple and four home runs.
Jackson Hobbs

Suffered the loss pitching for the Edison State Community College baseball team Friday in an 8-7 loss to Clark State Community College.
The sophomore allowed eight runs — six earned — on seven hits, including a home run. He lasted five innings, didn’t walk a batter and struck out five.
On Wednesday, he threw one inning of relief in a 17-10 win overUniversity of Northwestern Ohio. Hobbs gave up an earned run on two hits and struck out one.
Sydney Willis

Competed for the Lipscomb University women’s golf team in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships on Sunday and Monday at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia.
The sophomore finished last out of 35 golfers in the 36-hole tournament that was shortened because of heavy rains. She shot 85 in her firstround, and was 20 strokes higher in day two for a two-round total of 190.
The Bisons were seventh out of seven teams.
