Grace Thien had a record-breaking season.
Carley Stone simply had a solid year.
Together they were named among the conference’s best.
Thien and Stone, seniors at Fort Recovery High School, were named to thegirls basketball All-Midwest Athletic Conference first team Wednesday.
Three other Tribe players received All-MAC honors.
Thien set school records for 3-pointers in a game (seven), season (67) and career (180) in leading the Division IV No. 8 Indians to a 17-5 record and 6-3 mark in MAC play. She averaged 13.3 points per game and her 3.6 rebounds per game ranked third on the team.
Thien shot better than 40 percent this season from behind the 3-point line.
Stone averaged nine points per game, which tied Val Muhlenkamp for second on the team, and her 3.2 rebounds were third.
The guard had 3.3 assists per game, more than double anyone else on her squad.
Senior Kiah Wendel and Muhlenkamp, a junior, were named to the All-MAC second team. Wendel averaged 7.5 points per game before sitting out the final two weeks of the regular season with a foot injury. Muhlenkamp, a forward, was second on the team with 4.9 rebounds, behind classmate and All-MAC honorable mention Olivia Patch.
In addition to receiving first team all-conference, Thien was namedfirst team All-District 8 and Stone was named to the second team.
They were also selected to play in the district All-Star game.
