Jutte makes All-MAC

After getting shut out in 2015, the Indians have a first team all-conference player for the third consecutive year.

Payton Jutte, a Fort Recovery High School junior, was the lone Indian boys basketball player to make the first team as the Midwest Athletic Conference released its all-conference teams Tuesday.

Jutte led the Tribe to a 13-9 regular season record with a 3-6 mark in MAC games as the Indians tied with Coldwater and New Bremen for sixth in the conference standings.

Fort Recovery seniors Ryan Braun and Cade Wendel were given All-MAC honorable mention.

Micaiah Cox, a 2017 graduate, was named first team all-conference in each of the last two seasons.



Chiefs beat Bruins

Tony Wood remained undefeated on Tuesday as the East Jay Middle School wrestling team beat the Blackford Bruins, 78-24.

Wood, a 75-pounder, moved to 17-0 on the season a he won by forfeit.

Cody Rowles (80 pounds), Patrick Hemmelgarn (102), Blayne Daniels (117), Mason Ludy (150), Conner Specht (160) and Adryon Miller (195) also received by forfeits.

Dylan Garringer (90), Cameron Clark (9.5), Nate Paxson (125), Kadin Ridenour (132), Cameron Gage (140) and Ramon Bravo (175) each pinned their respective opponents.

Winning junior varsity matches were Presley Kunkle, Jeremiah Canterbury, Sebastian Jones, Tristan Stout, Joe Hemmelgarn, Daniels and Specht.
