Tankers push record to 5-0
Jay County Summer Swim Team
WINCHESTER — The Minnichs and Baders combined for 12 individual wins.
The rest of the team was just as dominant.
Jay County Summer Swim Team ran its record to 5-0 for the year as it was first in 19 of 20 relays and all but 12 of the 62 individual events in a 963-253 win over the Randolph County Sharks on Thursday at Goodrich Park Pool.
The Minnich brothers, Timo (11-and-12-year-old) and Jason (15-and-older), had three individual wins each as six Jay County swimmers accomplished the feat. Timo won the individual medley, breaststroke and short freestyle races, while older brother got wins in the long freestyle, butterfly and short freestyle.
Sisters Eliza and Alex Bader won six of the 15-and-older events. Eliza handled the 200 freestyle, butterfly and short freestyle, while Alex took care of the long free, backstroke and IM.
Lauren Fisher (9-and-10-year-old) was first in butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke while Chase McFarland (15-and-older) beat the field in the 200 freestyle, backstroke and IM.

Jordyn Champ won the 8-and-younger backstroke for the first individual victory of her swimming career. Also earning single victories were Rockland Beiswanger, Maisey Keller, David Keen, Branden Kegley, Cohen Henry, Emily Dues, Sophie Saxman, Josh Monroe, Braxton Malott, Vivienne Kunkler and Ethan Miller.
