SPENCERVILLE, Ohio — Robby LeFevre and Kierra Wendel ran fast.
Jared Timmerman jumped far.
They highlighted a solid day for the Fort Recovery High School track teams at the Division III District preliminaries Thursday at Spencerville.
The finals begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
LeFevre, a junior, earned the top seed for the finals in both the 100- and 200-meter dash events, and helped the 4x100 and 4x200 relays do the same. He had a time of 11.15 seconds in the 100 dash and 22.7 in the 200 dash.
The two-time 200 dash state medalist joined Riley Pearson, Brayden Schoen and Timmerman in the 4x200 relay as it finished with a time of 1 minute, 33.7 seconds. The 4x100 relay team of Jacob Acheson, Pearson, Schoen and LeFevre finished in 44.71 seconds for the top seed.
Timmerman finished third in the long jump with his distance of 20 feet, 3.75 inches, to become the first Tribe athlete to qualify for regional this season.
The top four places in each event earn regional berths.
Wendel, a freshman, will be the top seed in the 400 dash with her prelim time of 1:01.61. Teammate Cassy Martin was two spots behind her.
The FRHS girls finished fifth in the 4x800 relay behind the efforts of Chloe Will, Ava Bubp, Sarah Siefring and Hanna Metzger.
Also earning individual spots in the finals Saturday are Drew Muhlenkamp (second – 800 run), Kiah Wendel (fourth – 100 dash, seventh – 200 dash) and Pearson (eighth – 100 dash).
Kierra Wendel, Hannah Heitkamp, Martin and Bubp are seeded sixth in the 4x400 relay, while the 4x200 relay team of Audrey Guggenbiller, Martin and the Wendels have the eighth seed.
Owen Moorman, Acheson, Timmerman and Muhlenkamp will be seeded fourth in the 4x400 relay.
