MONROE — The Chiefs repeated as champions.

So too did the Starfire girls.

The East Jay Middle School boys cross country team repeated as Allen County Athletic Conference champions by finishing first on Saturday at Adams Central.

The Chiefs totaled 38 points, leaving the host Jets a distant second with 76 points. Woodlan totaled 86 for third. South Adams (121) was sixth and West Jay (180) placed seventh.

The South Adams girls had three finish in the top five on their way to scoring 41 points. Bluffton had 57 points for second and East Jay scored 63 for third. West Jay finished seventh with 214.

Cameron Clark led the EJMS boys, finishing fifth in 11 minutes, 4.2 seconds. Thomas LeMaster was sixth, Grayson Williams placed eighth, Sebastian Solis finished ninth and Tony Wood ended 10th.

Owen Wanner was the top South Adams boy as he was fourth overall. Oscar Vasquez (22nd), Gio Martinez (28th), Esmael Rodriguez (31st) and Gabe Neuenschwander (36th) also scored for the Starfires.

Logan Zimmerman led West Jay by placing 24th. Aiden Stephens (33rd), Lukes Powers (35th), Skyler Bee (42nd) and Jason Ayala (46th) contributed to the Eagles’ score.

Nia Littwiller finished second for the South Adams girls. Addisyn Hunley and Stella McIntire were fourth and fifth respectively, while Meredith Colpaert (10th) and Ava Kinsey (20th) also scored.

East Jay’s Lydia Keihn was the race winner in 12:00.8. Natalie Carreno placed third, Mara Bader was 11th, Emily Manor finished 19th and Makaylah Brainerd was 29th.

For West Jay, Makinsey Murphy finished 37th and Hailey Ayala was 39th. Emma Outcalt, Sarah McClain and Gabbi Bilbrey were 45th through 47th.
