Abby Barcus has played in three tournaments to begin her sophomore campaign.
She’s been named to the all-tournament team in each.

She had a team-high 11 kills in a three-set sweep to tournament host N.C. State on Friday. Her 10 digs tied for the team high, and she also had two assists and helped on a block.
The following day she tallied five kills, seven digs and an assist in a sweep of N.C. Central, and followed that performance with a team-best nine kills and a match-high 22 digs in a 3-1 setback to Appalachian State. Barcus also notched a pair of assists for the Raiders (6-3).
In nine matches this season, Barcus leads the squad with 89 kills and has a hitting percentage of 22.2 percent, which is second on the team. Her 110 digs rank second.

Blasted a career-high total for kills as part of the Anderson University volleyball team in a five-set win over Knox in the final match of the North Park Quad on Saturday in Chicago.
The junior had team-highs in both kills (22) and digs (16) in the win, while also adding a pair of aces and two assists. She had eight kills in a 3-0 loss earlier in the day to North Park, and totaled a dozen more kills the day before in a 3-1 win against Illinois Tech.

Scored for the Huntington University women’s cross country team Friday in the Twilight Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan.
The freshman had a time of 21 minutes, 29.7 seconds, in the 5K race and was 61st overall. She scored 39 points for the Foresters, who finished sixth with 180 points along with St. Francis and IU-Kokomo, who were fifth and seventh respectively after the sixth-runner tiebreaker.
Taylor won the invite with 24 points, including Sarah Harden’s first-place time of 18:12.3.
Cassidy Rammel

Totaled 37 kills over three matches for the University of Saint Francis volleyball team as it continued a pair of winning streaks.
The senior had a match-high 16 kills to go with her three digs and an assist on Wednesday in a 3-1 victory against Goshen College. On Saturday, Rammel had 13 kills, 12 digs, one assist and helped on a block against Grace College, a 3-1 triumph, and contributed seven kills, three digs
Rammel’s 162 kills rank first for the Cougars (15-2, 5-0 Crossroads League), who have won 12 in a row.

Also played for the University of Saint Francis volleyball team in three recent victories.
She notched eight kills, five total blocks and a dig Friday in a sweep of Huntington before totaling nine kills on Saturday in a 3-1 win against Grace College.
The junior tallied five kills and a dig as USF beat Goshen College 3-1 Wednesday.

Helped the Trine University women’s tennis team to a pair of wins to begin the season.
The Thunder (2-0) knocked off Alma College 9-0 Saturday before beating Defiance on Tuesday by the same margin.
At No. 4 singles, Braun beat Alma’s Caroline Ross 6-1, 6-3, and knocked off Sydney Huston of Defiance 6-0, 6-0.
Braun joined Katie Simon at No. 2 doubles to beat Alma’s Brooke Butterfield and Lucy McCarthy 9-7. Then on Tuesday, Braun and Simon got an 8-2 victory over Defiance’s Cayla Walker and Chelsey Braunwart.
Madi Wurster
South Adams – 2018
Saw action for the Purdue Fort Wayne volleyball team as it went 2-1 during the DePaul Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The freshman matched her career high of four kills in a 3-1 loss Saturday to Florida Atlantic.
The next day she had a pair of kills as the Mastodons (7-4) beat host DePaul 3-1.
Wurster, in 11 sets this year, has 13 kills on 34 attacks.
Kaelyn Weaver

Stepped on the court for the Saint Xavier University volleyball team in three recent victories.
The freshman had one kill, a pair of digs and an assist on Friday in a sweep of Waldorf University in the first match of the Viterbo University Tournament. In a five-set win against William Woods later that day, Weaver again had a pair of digs to go with an assist.
She tallied four kills and assisted on four blocks as the Cougars (8-3) knocked off Robert Morris in straight sets Tuesday.
Drew LeFever
South Adams – 2016
Played for the Taylor University football team Saturday in a 31-17 loss to Butler.
The junior running back had six carries for 20 yards. His longest rush went for six yards on second-and-9. It put the Trojans (1-1) in a short-yardage situation on third down but they went three-and-out.
LeFever has 17 rushes for 53 yards on the year.
Derek Wanner
South Adams – 2015
Also contributed to the Taylor football team Saturday.
The senior defensive back had one tackle, a stop in the fourth quarter. Will Marty completed a pass to Austin Schwartz, and Wanner brought him down short of the first down marker on third-and-3 to force the Bulldogs into punting.
Wanner has three tackles this season.

Ran for the Ohio Northern men’s cross country team on Saturday in the Knight Invitational hosted by Calvin College.
The sophomore crossed the finish line of the 8K race in 27 minutes, 15.4 seconds, which was sixth on the team and 103rd overall.
The Polar Bears totaled 223 points to finish 11th out of 23 teams. Host Calvin won with 56 points. Tom Goforth of Saginaw Valley State was the overall winner in 24:53.4.
Gabbie Mann

Logged a season-high 55 minutes as a starter for the Purdue Fort Wayne women’s soccer team on Friday in a 1-0 victory over Youngstown State.
She took two shots, also a season high, but both were off frame.
Mann also started Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Detroit
The junior has played in all eight games for the Mastodons (2-4-2
Zach Chaney
Jay County – 2016
Took a pair of losses for the Ancilla College men’s soccer team recently.
The goalie played all 90 minutes and turned away six of the eight shots he faced in a 2-1 loss to Muskegon on Saturday.
The following day Chaney made two stops but allowed three goals in 53 minutes of a 5-1 loss to Jackson.
This season he’s allowed 12 goals for the Chargers (2-3).

Played for the Capital University volleyball team as its losing streak continued.
The junior had a season-high nine kills on Friday in a 3-1 loss to St. Mary-Woods in the Case Western Reserve University Invitational.
Saturday she had one and two kills respectively in a 3-1 defeat to Defiance and a 3-0 setback to Hiram.
Tuesday she tallied six kills as the Crusaders (0-8) lost to Kenyon, 3-0.
