FORT RECOVERY — Kierra Wendel edged teammate Cassy Martin to win the 400-meter dash.
The Indians as a team did the same to the Rangers.
Less than a second separated Wendel from Martin, and five points was the difference for the Fort Recovery High School girls track team as it won a four-team meet it hosted.
The Indians totaled 87 points, with Midwest Athletic Conference rival New Knoxville second. St. Henry was third with 36 points, one ahead of Crestview.
The Crestview Knights won the boys meet with 92 points. Fort Recovery ended with 70 points for second, and St. Henry was third with 42 points.
Wendel finished with a time of 1 minute, 3.37 seconds, edging Martin 0.77 seconds. Later in the meet they joined Anna Wendel and Ava Bubp to win the 4x400 relay in 4:38.8.
Chloe Will was a double winner, taking the top spot in the 1,600 run (5:42.51) and 3,200 run (12:30.66). Elise Gehle had a time of 2:47.11 to win the 800 run. In pole vault, Abbie Francis had the top height of 7 feet, 6 inches, and Whitley Rammel won shot put at 34 feet, 8 inches.
Drew Muhlenkamp and Robby LeFevre each had a pair of victories. Muhlenkamp had a time of 54.07 seconds to win the 400 dash, and finished the 1,600 run in 5:14.08. LeFevre’s times of 11.6 and 23.58 seconds won the 100 and 200 dash races, respectively.
John Knapke (3,200 run – 13:09.21), Riley Pearson (17.28 seconds) and Jared Timmerman (long jump – 20 feet, 8 inches) all won their respective events.
Brayden Schoen, Pearson, Timmerman and LeFevre won the 4x100 relay in 45.01 seconds.
